I accept most butcherings of my name, including Kaz, Chaz, Case, Cuz, Criz, Kras, Kashmir and Chiswah (yeah, that one actually happened.)

I’m a motion design director and systematic thinker who leads projects from strategic concept to final delivery. I approach motion as design systems, developing visual frameworks that solve problems across touchpoints beyond just individual pieces.

Over 15 years, I've art directed and designed motion for brands including Cisco, GE, Omnicell, UC Berkeley, Yahoo, Google, and the Exploratorium in San Francisco. Since 2021, I’ve been Principal Visual Designer and Animation Lead at Coalition», the world’s most innovative cyber insurance company.

From 2018 to 2020, I was the Dialogue Lead for the San Francisco chapter of TypeThursday».

My work lives at the intersection of filmmaking, graphic design, and systematic thinking. Think Kubrick meets Müller-Brockmann. Yeah. I'm totally as good as both those guys.

I lead motion projects as a strategic partner; storyboarding concepts, art directing visual language, and building scalable design systems that teams can use long after delivery. My approach emphasizes thoughtful movement, adaptable frameworks, and workflows that make iteration easy. I am constantly experimenting with emerging tools and new processes to find more efficient and creatively fruitful ways to work.

Projects with me are built with intention: expression-driven controls, modular components, and structures designed to be shared and repurposed. Essential Properties, MOGRTs, and system-based rigs are my jam. Call me crazy, but I believe work should be easy. Well, easier.

When I’m not doing easy real work I’m working hard having real fun by biking & walking around Philly, watching unsettling Criterion films (or The Empire Strikes Back for the 800th time), listening to strange electronic music, whittling through my backlog of Steam games or frequenting cool bars and museums with my wife and cat. The cat is particularly fond of Rodin and sazeracs.
