I’m Casimir Fornalski, but my friends call me Cas. I accept most butcherings of my name, including Kaz, Chaz, Case, Cuz, Criz, Kras, Kashmir and Chiswah (yeah, that one actually happened.)

I’m a visual designer specializing in motion for tech, B2B, nonprofit and educational orgs. A practitioner of this dark art for over 15 years, I’ve worked for brands such as Cisco, GE, Omnicell, UC Berkeley, Yahoo, Google and the Exploratorium in San Francisco.

Since 2021, I’ve been a Principal Visual Designer and Animation Lead at Coalition», the world’s most innovative cyber insurance company.

From 2018 to 2020, I was the Dialogue Lead for the San Francisco chapter of TypeThursday».

I combine an extensive background in both filmmaking and graphic design to inform a thoughtful approach to animation and motion design systems. Think Kubrick meets Müller-Brockmann. Yeah. I’m totally as good as both those guys.

My approach to motion design emphasizes fluid, precise movement and adaptable systems. Systems are swell. Grids are good. Essential Properties, MOGRTS and expression-driven controls are my jam, and I always aim to build project files that can be shared, repurposed and are modular. Call me crazy, but I believe work should be easy. Well, easier.

When I’m not doing easy real work I’m working hard having real fun by biking & walking around Philly, watching unsettling Criterion films (or The Empire Strikes Back for the 800th time), listening to strange electronic music, whittling through my backlog of Steam games or frequenting cool bars and museums with my wife and cat. The cat is particularly fond of Rodin and sazeracs.
