Conceptual UI

First Person worked with GE to visualize the capabilities and potential of their revolutionary Predix™ software. We needed to find unique ways to demonstrate the power of a holistic system that pulled massive amounts of real-time industrial data, analyzed it through powerful artificial intelligence, and interfaced with the human operators and market watchers responsible for the entire energy grid. These visualizations would be the centerpieces at GE’s annual industry event, Minds & Machines.

Vision

First, we needed to establish a vision of what Predix meant for the energy production industry. This allowed me to put on my science-fiction hat (by far, my favorite hat) and develop a language of conceptual UI and industrial technology visuals that demonstrated how Predix™ would change the way power plants were operated as well as how energy was both delivered and recycled.
